The Acer XV Ultimate Thriver takes a different approach to forgiveness: instead of a mini driver or low-lofted fairway wood, it keeps a true 460cc titanium clubhead with a full-size face — but shortens the shaft to roughly 3-wood length (43.5″). That shorter, more controllable length makes it significantly easier to find the center of the face consistently, while the larger face still delivers a strong trampoline effect for real driver distance.
The head is also built 10-20 grams heavier than a standard driver, with that extra mass repositioned for a lower center of gravity. The result is a higher launch with lower spin — ideal for golfers who struggle with consistency off the tee using a traditional 45″+ driver.
